2. use reasonable cut distance
In accordance with the requirements of the instructions, a reasonable cut distance is used, the distance between the cutting nozzle and the surface of the workpiece. When the perforation is perforated, the maximum distance of the normal cutting distance is 2 times as long as possible or the maximum height can be transmitted by the plasma arc.
3. perforation thickness should be within the allowable range of machine system.
The cutting machine can not be perforated on the steel plate which is over working thickness. The thickness of the perforation is usually 1/2.
4. nozzles are not overloaded
Overload the nozzle (that is, the working current exceeding the nozzle) will cause the nozzle to be damaged very quickly. The current intensity should be 95% of the working current of the nozzles. For example, the current intensity of the nozzle of 100A should be set to 95A.
5. keep the dry and clean of plasma gas
Plasma system needs dry and clean plasma gas to work normally. Dirty gas is usually a problem of gas compression system. It can shorten the service life of the consumable parts and cause abnormal damage. The method of testing the quality of the gas is to set the cutting torch in the test state, put a mirror under it, and consume the gas in the cutting torch. If the gas and fog appear on the mirror, it needs to find out the reason and correct it.
6. the cutting should start from the edge
Cut from edge as far as possible without perforation. Using the edge as the starting point will prolong the life of the consumable parts. The correct method is to direct the nozzle directly to the edge of the workpiece and then start the plasma arc.
7. avoid lengthening expansion of plasma arc
If the plasma arc has only elongated extension to contact the surface of the workpiece, the plasma arc produces such stretching and expansion at the beginning and end of the cutting, which will cause abnormal damage to the nozzle. This problem can be avoided if the right edge start technique is adopted and the appropriate "broken arc" signal time is chosen.
8. reduce unnecessary "arcing" time.
The consumption of nozzles and electrodes is very fast when arcing. Before starting, the cutting torch should be cut within the metal walking distance.
9. coating splash chemical coating on protective shell
Anti splash chemical coatings help to reduce the accumulation of slag on the protective shell. But we must remove the protective shell from the cutting torch before coating the splash proof paint.
10. scavenging the slag on the protective shell
The slag on the cutting torch protection shell should be removed frequently, otherwise the slag will cause destructive heavy plasma arc.
11. remove gas after replacing the consumption piece
After replacing the consumption parts or stopping for a long time, the gas should be cleared (2-3 minutes), so as to ensure that the water and mist are discharged from the cutting torch.
12. keep the cutting torch and the consumption piece clean as much as possible
Any dirt on the cutting torch and expendable will greatly affect the function of the plasma system. When replacing the consumables, put them on a clean flannelette, check the line of the cutting torch and use the hydrogen peroxide cleaner to clean the electrode contact surface and nozzle.
13. remove oxide from air or oxygen nozzles
When air or oxygen plasma is selected, oxide will be deposited in the nozzle, which will affect the airflow and reduce the life of the expendable parts. Wipe the inner side of the nozzle with clean flannelette to eliminate oxide.
14. injecting the cutting torch by softening water
Hard water causes precipitation of metallic impurities on the nozzle ring, which will affect the airflow, reduce the quality of the cutting torch and shorten the service life of the expendable parts.
15. check airflow and cooling flow every day
One of the most common reasons for the damage of the cutting torch is the lack of cooling flow. It is necessary to check the air and pressure of the cutting torch (such as air cooling) or the coolant (such as water cooling). If the air flow is not found enough or leaked, the failure should be shut down immediately.
